(Salt Lake City, Utah) - The National Wireless Safety Alliance (NWSA) announced today that Rick Czepzynski, Senior Quality Assurance Engineer at US Cellular, and Mike Workman, Vice President of Safety and Training at InfraServices, have been appointed as members of the organization’s Board of Governors. Additionally, NWSA announced that Sonya Roshek, BEAD Long Haul Fiber Director at Zayo Group, will continue serving on the NWSA Board of Governors but will transition to the seat set aside for a Fiber sector representative.
In their roles as members of the Board of Governors, Czepzynski, Workman, and Roshek will collaborate with representatives from a broad cross-section of the industry who are tasked with developing policy and overseeing the activities of the various committees that will serve under their authority.
NWSA is a national non-profit assessment and certification organization established to provide thorough, independent assessments of knowledge and skills and provide verifiable, ANSI accredited trade certifications to enhance safety, reduce workplace risk, improve quality, encourage training, and recognize the skilled professionals who work on towers and other non-standard communication structures.

NWSA currently offers the following industry-wide trade certification programs: Telecommunications Tower Technician 1 (TTT-1), Telecommunications Tower Technician 2 (TTT-2), Telecommunications Tower Foreman and Antenna & Line Specialty Certification Program.

Biographies
Rick Czepzynski
Rick Czepczynski is the Senior Quality Assurance Engineer at US Cellular where he manages the development and continual improvement of internal processes, controls and technologies that ensure equipment installations, safety audits and maintenance are being completed in an efficient manner that meets or exceeds defined quality and safety requirements. Over the past 24 years he has held multiple positions in the telecommunications industry, including Senior Network Field Engineer, Senior Network Operations Standards Engineer, and Manager of Network Operations Center, where he led a team that monitored all aspects of the US Cellular network.
He has served on the Marengo Illinois School Board of Education for 10 years, where he represents the public's voice in education while ensuring that taxpayers get the most for their tax dollars, setting standards for achievement and holding themselves accountable for the overall performance of the schools. In this role, Rick has also led contract and salary negotiations with the teacher’s union multiple times.
He is meticulous and experienced in crisis management, auditing, and compliance related activities. In addition, he has instilled in his team a keen sense of teamwork, accountability, and respect. He is currently pursuing an MBA in Finance from Colorado Technical University, graduation in December 2024, has a Bachelor of Science in Management and an associate degree in Electronic Technology.
Mike Workman
Mike Workman has over 21 years of extensive experience in the wireless industry. Currently serving as the Vice President of Safety and Training at InfraServices, he has a distinguished career marked by progressive leadership roles, from an at‐heights technician to executive positions.
Previously at QualTek Wireless, Mike successfully centralized technical training nationwide, opening two training centers and onboarding over 500 field technicians. His innovative approach has led to the creation of internal certification management software, and he has authored key training courses significantly enhancing the company’s training and safety protocols.
With a strong background in project and personnel management, process development, and implementation, Mike is dedicated to safety, continuous improvement, and operational excellence. A ten-year veteran of the U.S. Army, he served in Operation Iraqi Freedom. His military service, combined with numerous industry certifications – including Six Sigma, underscores his commitment to leadership and quality.
Sonya Roshek
Sonya Roshek has joined Zayo Group as the BEAD Long Haul Fiber Director. She is currently deploying 5 separate middle mile BEAD fiber projects with over 1800 route miles to bring broadband to rural and underserved communities.
Sonya Roshek is a result-driven leader with over 25 years of leadership in telecommunication deployment including Long Haul Fiber (OSP), structural modifications, New Site builds, DAS, Small Cell, and Distributed Infrastructure (Car Charging stations) across the US. Sonya has led large-scale projects including completing a multi-discipline green-field wireless build with microwave overlay for a new carrier spanning two Canadian providences. Ms. Roshek has also served as project lead for both the wireline and wireless network installations for the 2002 Olympic Games and managed the integration of more than 10,000 cells in the Remote Integration Testing Center (RITC). Sonya is on the Board of Governors for the National Wireless Safety Alliance (NWSA) and working on the taskforces to advance and standardize the fiber and tower industry.
