In 2015, National Wireless Safety Alliance (NWSA) was formed in collaboration with NATE and industry leaders from carriers, contractors and tower companies. NWSA’s mission is to provide thorough, independent assessments of knowledge and skills and provide verifiable worker certification in order to enhance safety, reduce workplace risk, improve quality, encourage training, and recognize the skilled professionals who work on towers and other non-standard structures.

NWSA currently has established certifications for Telecommunications Tower Technician 1 and 2, Antenna and Line Specialist and for Foreman with additional certifications under development. These certifications provide a rigorous process that provides assurance that the personnel working in the tower industry have the skills and knowledge to perform their assigned tasks.

Value Proposition

NWSA enabled the first deliberate and disciplined process for obtaining broad industry consensus of acceptable baseline knowledge and skill for tower workers. The certifications provide independent and unbiased assessment and validation of worker proficiency reducing uncertainty in the hiring and development process.

NWSA credentials are recognized as the definitive standard in the industry and follow the worker no matter where they may be employed.

The fact that a publicly accessible database of certified technicians for nationwide verification of an individual’s certification status provides greater assurance that a qualified workforce will be available for network deployments and maintenance.

Proudly NWSA can state that the Certification process provides better opportunities for workers to grow and earn a living by following a clear career path. And for employers, provides more consistency in providing deployment services.

Donation Request

With your donations we can ensure the future and progression of safety for telecom workers and the industry.

To sustain the development of NWSA’s Mission we are conducting a fundraising campaign. The cost of certification development in advance of collecting fees for test taking puts NWSA in a financial deficit. This fundraising program is intended to remedy this deficit and propel NWSA and the industry forward. NWSA has established several levels of donation/sponsorship for industry leaders to contribute to the mission of the organization.
