NWSA Reaches Major Milestone Eclipsing 10000 Certifications Issued

(Fairfax, Virginia) - The National Wireless Safety Alliance (NWSA) announced today that the organization has officially surpassed 10,000 trade certifications issued to workers in the communications infrastructure industry. NWSA reached the 10,000 credentials mark in a 6-year time span, having started offering trade certification programs to the industry in late 2016.

“I would like to congratulate the National Wireless Safety Alliance on achieving this amazing milestone,” said NWSA Board of Directors Member Mark Ciarfella, Executive Vice President - U.S. Operations at SBA Communications Corporation. “All of the dedicated NWSA Board of Directors, Board of Governors, subject matter experts and volunteers should be extremely proud of this achievement. Since the beginning, leaders from every sector of the industry have devoted countless volunteer hours to develop these worker certification programs that have helped keep our labor force safe and improve the quality of our network and related infrastructure,” added Ciarfella.

“The 10,000 certifications milestone is a great accomplishment for the NWSA and validates the ANSI Accredited credentialing programs the organization offers are having a positive safety and quality impact in the marketplace,” said Executive Director Duane MacEntee. “In 2023, the NWSA will look to continue this positive momentum and remain laser-focused on new trade certification development and collaborating with the industry’s leading wireless carriers and vertical real-estate companies to request that they place NWSA certification requirements in their MSA contracts,” added MacEntee.

The NWSA currently offers the following trade certification programs leading to worker credentials: Telecommunications Tower Technician 1 (TTT-1), Telecommunications Tower Technician 2 (TTT-2), Antenna & Line Specialty and Foreman.
