A Practical Examination is a performance based assessment required to obtain certification. In addition to the computer-based written assessments (CBT), a fair and objective practical examination must be administered to ensure that the candidate can apply the essential knowledge and skills need to safely perform the job activities in the field. NWSA Accredited Practical Examiners observe and record the performance of the candidate during the practical examination and report

candidate performance to NWSA Testing Services for evaluation. NWSA Accredited Practical Examiners are NWSA-certified personnel who have been trained and authorized by NWSA to administer the practical examinations for the TTT-1 and TTT-2 certification programs. NWSA Practical Examiners are recognized as professionals in their field and may offer their services for hire.

Where can I find a Practical Examiner?
Candidates interested in scheduling a practical examination should review the listing of open practical test sites that offer TTT-1 and TTT-2 Practical Examinations. If candidates do not see an open practical test site that is accessible in their respective region of the country, they may hire a practical examiner to come to their workplace or other designated facility.

What is the Role of a Practical Examiner?
NWSA Accredited Practical Examiners are individuals who have been trained to administer the practical examination portion of the certification process. Practical Examiners observe and record the performance of the candidate during the practical examination and report candidate performance to NWSA Testing Services for evaluation.

How much does it cost to take a Practical examination?
The cost for a candidate to register and take a Practical examination is $100 per exam. There may also be additional administrative fees that will be assessed by the Practical Examiner to administer the exam.
